West coast rapper The Game is facing the possibility of up to three years in prison because of his alleged assault on an off-duty police officer during a game of pickup basketball.

On June 29, Game appeared in court to face charges regarding the altercation between him and the officer, which occurred in March. He and the off-duty police officer were on opposing teams during the basketball game when Game allegedly took offense to a foul called against him and got into an argument with the officer, punched him and threatened to kill him – unaware that he was an officer.

The 35-year-old Compton native, whose name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, faces one felony count of making criminal threats and one misdemeanor count of assault and battery that could land him in jail for three years if convicted. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on $50,000…
